KHOU 11 News Houston App Reviews

Two significant problems that werent present beforehand. 1) Some pages do not open. When clicked a blank screen shows up and nothing more. After I tried shutting down app, restarting phone, I decided its the apps issue not my phone. 2) Way too many advertisements!! Literally story headline is separated by an similar looking advertisement that seemingly is there to trick readers into clicking on them. Overall, Im getting rid of KHOU (and stopped watching their news channel for similar commercial:news ratio issues) because their app went from decent to absolutely atrocious!

I used to like the KHOU app they only had adds on the bottom of the page. Now in between every story is an add. I hate the new update with more ads its ridiculous how much junk they are pushing at you.

Not many updates for a news organization. Too many adds trying to view videos. If I want news I go to the channel 13 app

KHOU is my favorite news channel in Houston. Professional broadcasting.

Was my go to local news app until recent version added ads to the news feed. They pop up nearly every other article and while reading. Way better way to add ads are out there...

When watching video footage, the commercial portion never freezes, but the actual footage you want to see always freezes, so annoying

Was my go to app for local news but as soon as you click on a story out pops an ad. Will be switching to kprc and USA instead. Bad business decision!!!

Horrible app. This was my local news app but now half the time it doesnt load. Ive switched to abc13 news. Loved the app before.

Videos dont work half the time. Old, old "headlines" stay too long, especially on weekends. Writing is awful to the point of sentences not making sense. Does anybody proofread?

Needs much improvement. As much as 80% of the time, only commercial videos work. The actual video content freezes up.

Traffic tab is GREAT but its way down on the list. Hard to get to when in TRAFFIC. Move your best tab,TRAFFIC, to the top.

KHOU 11 is very thorough

News needs updates.

When the notification indicates that I have, say, 9 new items to read, its not obvious to see when Ive read all new items as I scroll down through them. There are ads strewn throughout for one reason. But I suppose that comes with having a free app news source.

I look at this ap at least 3 times per day but am looking for a new source for news. Ads have become unbearable.

Ads that constantly flash and move are distracting enough to make this app unusable. App deleted.

Slowly updated, and I mean pretty slow indeed. I keep it in the hopes that Ill be informed of breaking local events, but Im more likely to get Houston news off of a national carrier. Theres a lot of potential here, as more people move away from watching live broadcasts and catch the news on their phones, but KHOU fails to deliver so far. Many stores have no content, just a headline and a photo, and theres news on the app from weeks ago. Sorry guys, but its true. I wish it werent.
